BREAKING | President Donald Trump used his address to the UN General Assembly in New York to frame Iran’s future as a choice between an agreement that would allow the country to rebuild and the rapid destruction of the Islamic Republic.
“I have a big decision to make,” Trump said. “Will a deal be made with Iran that lets them rebuild and create a far greater country than it ever was before?” He then asked: “Or do I annihilate the Islamic Republic and do it quickly?”

Despite the threats, Trump predicted that an agreement would be reached after the U.S. midterm elections, claiming Tehran was waiting to see their outcome. “I believe we’ll make a deal right after the election, because it doesn’t make sense for them not to,” he said.
The Associated Press reported that Iranian delegates walked out during the speech. Secretary of State Marco Rubio has said Washington is open to meeting Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian in New York, although no meeting has been scheduled.
